I study how bees learn and communicate. To do this, I stick a bunch of bumble bees into a meadow of robotic flowers and measure their foraging behavior. Studying bee foraging yields insight into how simple brains make complex decisions and how those decisions influence the plants that rely on bee pollination.
Beyond research, I’m passionate about teaching, outreach, and writing science limericks on Twitter.
